This gorgeous ball gown is perfect for the classic bride who wants to look and feel like a princess. It is a size 12, Justin Alexander Signature Collection and was purchased new and only worn for a few hours (before the bride changed into a casual, going away ensemble.) Even though a size 12 originally, the owner typically wears a size 8 dress, but needed extra material in the bust area. If you are a curvy, petite bride, this is the dress for you! The gown is made almost entirely of white, Mikado silk with clean lines accentuated by a silver, hand-beaded waistband. The natural waistline, with hidden pockets as a bonus feature, flows elegantly into couture knife pleats. The multi-layered all silk skirt has a formal, cathedral-length train. The alterations were completed by a wedding dress specialist with over 40 years of wedding dress experience. The bride paid over $750.00 in alteration fees, making this price a great value! Starting at the top, the seamstress added a multi-layer nude panel carefully hand sewn to the inside of the bust area to provide modest coverage of the cleavage above the deep v neckline. This panel can easily be removed if desired. The silver waistband was removed and then reattached to custom fit the waist area to the bride, so approximately 1” smaller than original size 12. Finally, the hem and bustle were created. The dress is the perfect length for a 5’2” bride who wants to wear a low heel. The cathedral train had a French bustle added, which has 15 individual string ties which fold the train partially under the top layer of silk for a gorgeous effect and practicality for dancing at the reception!
