This gown is an absolute show-stopper! I visited Kleinfeld in NYC in the Spring of 2012 looking for something for my upcoming Great Gatsby-inspired wedding. I had a few gowns in mind but the bridal gown specialist took one look at me and said no no no, she knew of the perfect dress for me. When I stepped into this gorgeous champagne-colored stunner, I looked in the mirror and knew immediately it was my dress! The beading in the bodice is exquisite, with beads and rhinestones and ribbons/mini flowers made of the same delicate tulle that makes up the show-stopping skirt and train. The drop-waist style was perfect for a 20s-inspired theme, and the train photographs insanely beautifully. It is quite heavy, but I had it altered to fit my smaller, athletic body (i.e. barely any boobs LOL) and it stayed put the entire night. I purchased a size 8 and in the end it was altered to a 4 (my measurements at that time, to be precise, were 34” bust - 27” waist - 36” hips), and I was 5’11” with my heels. It rained the morning of my wedding and the inside bottom of the skirt got a bit dirty when we went outside to take photos, but beyond that no other incidents affected the dress (miraculously!). I had it professionally cleaned at Kleinfeld and beyond a little discoloration along the inside bottom of the skirt – which no one would ever be able to see due to the location and the sheer amount of fabric in the intricate ruffles! – the dress is in immaculate condition! I originally intended to keep the gown as a family heirloom, but living in NYC in an NYC-sized apartment makes it difficult to store, and since it is such a stunner and made me so happy, I want to spread that joy and love with someone else who deserves nothing less than princess-status on her big day! Price is negotiable. :)
